1875 Travel Memoir of Transylvania and Banat - Great HIstory and description of times.

I have been trying to find out more of my ancestors, which half of them came from this area. The read is captivating and exciting. I did not find it dry. The author describes places of the time period well. More appreciated are his descriptions of the people. Since my grandparents were born shortly after this time, it has helped me to see how some of their thinking patterns were shaped by the events then. The writer is from England; so he has an outsider's view of the area and people. This was for me a definitely worthwhile purchase.
