Review of Boyle's Oedipus (Seneca)

A better edition is hardly possible. The introduction is excellent (thorough but balanced), the text is accompanied by a very basic and readable English translation that aids one's tour through the Latin text, and the end-commentary is incredibly rich. Seneca's Oedipus isn't a very popular work, but this will quickly become a standard among scholars (not for student's though, since the facing English will keep this text out of the classroom.)

Our goal is the worldwide everyday use of linear-elastic analysis, and dimensioning on basis of these elastic computations. We cover steel and concrete structures, though attention to structural concrete prevails. Structural engineers have access to powerful FEM packages and apply them intensively. Experience makes clear that often they do not understand the software that they are using. This book aims to be a bridge between the software world and structural engineering. Many problems are related to the correct input data and the proper interpretation and handling of output. The book is neither a text on the Finite Element Method, nor a user manual for the software packages. Rather it aims to be a guide to understanding and handling the results gained by such software. We purposely restrict ourselves to structure types which frequently occur in practise.

I love this book despite its weight (literal, not literary). My greatest problem is that I want more information which of course means that I have to get off my butt and look for it which is no bad thing in itself.

As an overview of the 'iconic' or best-known houses of the 20th century it is fine; it includes most of the houses one would expect to see and some one would not have expected. The major omission to my mind is Frank Lloyd Wright - Falling Water is here of course, but none of the Usonian or Prairie houses.

Given these relatively minor gripes, I have found this book to be fascinating, especially to a reader who is passionately interested in residential architecture.

This under-appreciated book is far and away the best book on screenwriting I've ever come across, and I've read them all. Whether the author is a successful industry screenwriter doesn't really matter, much more accomplished screenwriters have written books that don't measure up to this one. This book is simple, concise, and and comes from a place of humility. A screenwriting book isn't going to make anyone a great screenwriter, but this book can be a very useful tool for just about anyone trying to improve their craft.

This book is easy to follow especially for people like me who see scriptwriting as difficult as learning a foreign language. Not the best

This is a Surgical Technologist text book that many schools use. It's a decent book but I find it contradictory in many areas. Each chapter starts with and introduction explaining what is in the chapter. Then when you get to each section, it contradicts the material in the introduction which my entire ST class finds very confusing.

This book is an excellent introduction to various aspects of the many different surgeries and procedures in use, such as anatomy, instrumentation, and OR duties. It also contains a solid introduction to ethics. Overall, a useful book for the budding medical student, or for anyone interested in surgery.

Loaded with inaccuracies

I find the Fuller text have to have a great many error in it. The teacher resource of Powerpoints will have a title on a slide and show a picture of something entirely different. For example; there is a slide titled "ventriculo peritoneal shunt" and shows a cross section of a lumbar spine. On the next page it says "ventriculo peritoneal and ventriculo ARTERIAL (rather than atrial). Another example is where it defines both systole and diastole as the contraction of the heart. It can be quite confusing for students It was clear that this book was written by a circulating nurse. As certification is the ultimate goal, I prefer and recommend the AST book. It is now in the 4th edition and available electronically. Since it's AST it is written for the certification exam. I have thoroughly revied both and AST's is far superior in my opinion.

it motivates me

This is the first book I have read of it's kind, I really thought of it as a guide. I am not sure that I could compare it to anything else and would be hard pressed to just give it five stars. The book was clear and direct. Before this book, I didn't think I could be an author because I never actually written anything meant for others to read. I was scared to be honest. But after I read this book, I figured out what my obstacles are through her exercises and the steps I was missing in creating my own process. The biggest impact were the examples. They helped settle my internal struggles with why I would even write the book I think I should, but thought I couldn't. I can see this series being a great success for it's author and those who read (and follow) the steps to being one step closer to being a first time or improved author.

This book is a must read for anyone who wants to reach their target audience. It really delves into the process and approach to writing something that will influence the audience. It is an easy read with practical, applicable advice. I think this is a great read for people that have something to say but don't know how to start, are stuck or are worried about getting stuck. After reading I feel much more confident about my ability to write because I have an action plan in this text.

As a new writer, I was blown away by the tough, in your face questions that Lori Anne Rising posed to the reader. Thankfully, these were some of the similar type questions I had already been asking of myself. Coming from an educational background, I could appreciate the the exercises at the end of each chapter. If a writer is honest with themselves, I believe the exercises will help focus (which we all struggle to do) the direction of the book and to embrace the internal creative process that is occurring.

An AISC Shape Database V3 CD was supposed to be included with the book because it is usually sold with the book. I did not receive it. Refere to PREFACE on page vii of the Manual for confirmation. I am sure that if I has purchased the book from AISC, I would have received the CD.

I got it on time and I got what I expected. it was exactly what I saw in the picture. I am happy with the product. also I liked that is already labeled, that made my work easy and whenever I want to find something I can do it fast.
